Neighborhood Stabilization Program: Target Areas

This site presents an interactive map that offers the following functionality:
  1. Select and zoom NSP grantee from the Find NSP Target Area drop-down lists. After performing the search, your selected grantee will be highlighted with a red border. Hover the cursor over the selected NSP area and grantee name, grant number, and award amount appear. See examples below for Alameda County, CA, NSP2 area.

  2. You can also search for NSP1 Area and NSP2 Area grantees by their address, census tract, city, county, or state under the Search bar.


  3. To add or remove the NSP areas, click on the Show NSP1 Grantees and Show NSP2 Grantees check boxes (figure 1). Zoom in and out of the map and pan up, down, left, right using the gray navigation tools in the upper left corner of the map frame (figure 2). Click on/off census tract boundaries, block group boundaries, and ZIP codes by clicking the appropriate check boxes. ZIP codes are automatically labeled. Census tract and block group labels can be added by clicking the check boxes (figure 3). These features are active at certain zoom levels. See images below.

  4. Click anywhere on the map and there appears in the Identify Results box a list of NSP target areas, and the county, city, ZIP, tract, block group.
  5. Print your map by clicking the Print Map button in the upper right-hand corner of the map frame. You can give the map a custom title and then fill in the fields of the print dialog box to select printer. Toggle between streets view and aerial imagery with the Streets and Imagery buttons in the top right corner of the map frame.
*At the bottom of the page will be a button labeled "Back to NSP Target Area Map".
