- October 11, 2011: HUD Charges Utah Homeowner Association, Condo Owners with Discriminating Against Veteran with a Disability

The HUD Veteran Resource Center (HUDVET), which is maintained by Community Connections, was created as a result of a unique partnership between national veteran service organizations and HUD. HUDVET's goal is to provide veterans and their family members with information about HUD's community-based programs and services. In addition to its special focus on veterans who are homeless, HUDVET is also a source of information on other HUD and related Federal programs such as those to combat domestic violence, enhance community and economic development, provide support for runaway youth, and increase affordable housing for senior citizens and Americans with disabilities.

Callers to the resource center include individual veterans seeking loan assistance or information on the VA loan process, housing opportunities for homeless veterans, funding sources for nonprofit organizations, and information on funds for disabled veterans. It is our hope that equipped with this knowledge, veterans can become more involved in the community-based planning and decision-making process as well as the utilization of services and local resources.
