American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Information Center

There are four HUD programs funded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). The programs provide approximately $6.25 billion to: improve communities and create economic opportunities for persons primarily of low and moderate income, stabilize and revitalize distressed areas (including technical assistance to help local and State governments and nonprofit organizations to more effectively meet these objectives), address home foreclosures and abandonment, assist in the prevention and alleviation of homelessness, and prompt further investment in Low Income Housing Tax Credits.

ARRA provides new program funding for Community Development Block Grants, Neighborhood Stabilization, Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing, and HOME Tax Credit Assistance. HUD and the Office of Community Planning & Development’s resolve is to expedite grant allocations, speed project implementation, ensure accountability, and successfully accomplish goals and objectives as intended by the Act.

The Center serves as a resource and information center for HUD’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Programs. In addition to basic program information, specialists can assist CPD and Public and Indian Housing (PIH) grantees with questions on ARRA reporting. Recipients of Recovery Act Funding are required to report quarterly. Quarterly Reporting Periods are listed below:
